Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Tuesday, April 16.

Softball

North Harford 7, Joppatowne 3: The Hawks built a 6-0 lead after two innings and cruised to victory. Ashlie McMillan had a triple, double and two RBIs to lead the offense. Mackenzie Dunaway and Jenna Trzeciak also drove in runs. McMillan and Alison Smithson combined on the six-hitter. Smithson started, threw 3 ⅔ innings, striking out eight. McMillan pitched 3 ⅓ hitless innings with nine strikeouts.

Bohemia Manor 3, Havre de Grace 2: Lily Dalton threw a five-hitter with seven strikeouts, and while the Warriors offense managed seven hits, it couldn’t turn enough into runs Kinsey Mentzer homered in a two-hit day. Dalton also drove in a run. Sarah Weitzel collected two base hits.

Rising Sun 6, Patterson Mill 1: The Huskies fell to last season’s 2A state champion. Kaylyn Pulket had two of Patterson Mill’s five hits. Ava Ward drove in the lone run.

Francis Scott Key 14, Winters Mill 2: The Eagles were trailing after an inning, but quickly remedied that by scoring nine runs in the second inning. Emma Taff and Madi Rill each drove in three runs in the win. Kendall Jackman, Jasmine Kline and Maddy Schoberg had two RBIs apiece, with Schoberg finishing with three hits. Kline and Rill combined in the circle on a two-hitter.

Liberty 6, Arundel 2: The Lions opened the scoring with four runs in the top of the third and carried them to a win. Allison Bald had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs to pace the offense. Evelyn Connor and Hannah DeVincent each had three hits with RBIs. Kristin Kreh and Sophia Steele combined on a two-hitter. Kreh struck out six through five innings.

Marriotts Ridge 22, Hammond 0: Ava Hammer, Brynne Mellady and Jasmin Kirkland led the Mustangs (5-3) in their fifth straight win. Hammer went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, while Mellady and Kirkland each had three hits and three RBIs.

Atholton 23, Wilde Lake 18: The Raiders (2-4) used nine-run third and fifth innings to spark the offense. For Wilde Lake (0-8), freshman leadoff hitter Olivia Bixler went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, while Ainslee Torres also had a pair of hits and two RBIs.

Annapolis Area Christian 14, Park 6: Sarah Billett (3-for-4) had a triple and four RBIs to lead the host Eagles (7-1, 5-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland C Conference) over the Bruins (1-4, 1-4). Brooke Fitzgerald struck out six for the win. Bella Taylor, Madelyn Boyer Fitzgerald accounted for over 12 stolen bases all scoring runs on stealing home.

Baseball

Patterson Mill 9, Rising Sun 2: Travis Loewe had three hits, including a double, with two RBIs to lead the Huskies offense. T McInnis also drove in a pair. Chase Cichocki, John Teal and Noah Thomas all added RBIs to the win.

Hammond 2, Marriotts Ridge 1: The Golden Bears (5-3, 4-3 Howard County) won their second straight game coming from behind. Chase Endres had two hits including the game-winner. Yaxiel Rivera also had two hits. Jacq Boudreau pitched six innings, while Charlie Moskov pitched the seventh striking out two and picking up the win.

Boys lacrosse

Boys’ Latin 15, Mount St. Joseph 7: The host Lakers (9-1, 5-0 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) extended an early two-goal lead with a 7-4 run in the second quarter and beat the Gaels (7-4, 1-3). Boys’ Latin was led by Spencer Ford with four goals, Colin Kenney with three goals and two goals each from Matthew Higgins, Parker Hoffman and Connor Sydnor.

Towson 22, Dundalk 1: The Generals had assists on 19 of their 22 goals in the win. Brody Donovan totaled 10 points – six goals and four assists. Fisher Putnam and Noah Vanik each scored five goals. Lucas Westerkamp totaled three goals to go with six assists. Ethan Richards chipped in two goals and three assists and Blake Katz also scored a goal.

Gilman 15, Severn 7: The visiting Greyhounds (9-2, 4-0 MIAA A Conference) opened with a 6-0 run and beat the Admirals (4-8, 0-4). Gilman was led by Marquette-bound Michael Maloney, who had four goals and an assist. North Carolina-bound Harrison Schline had three goals and two assists. Andrew Beard had a hat trick for Severn. Admirals’ goalie Jack Reid scored on an unsettled situation with 1:14 left in the first quarter.

St. John’s Catholic Prep 18, Annapolis Area Christian 9: The visiting Vikings (7-0, 4-0 MIAA C Conference) beat the Eagles (2-5, 2-2). Thursday, St. John’s will host Cristo Rey Jesuit and AACS travels to Beth Tfiloh.

Marriotts Ridge 23, Oakland Mills 0: The Mustangs (3-2, 2-0 Howard County) scored a season-high in goals. Quinn Jenkins, Mike Machrian and Mason Machrian each had a hat trick to led the way, while Mason added two assists and Jenkins and Mike had one. Thirteen different Mustangs scored in the win.

Centennial 20, Long Reach 1: The Eagles (8-1, 4-1 Howard County) won their eighth game in a row after dropping the season opener. Cam Westlake had a season-high 10 points (six goals, four assists), while Aiden Krawczyk scored five times and added three assists. Ryan Foy also scored six times with two assists, as Colby Dabbs and Jack Alpuagh each scored twice.

Archbishop Spalding 10, McDonogh 9, OT: The Cavaliers (8-4, 3-2 MIAA A Conference) went on a 4-0 run over the final nine minutes of the fourth quarter and scored the game-winner in overtime to beat the Eagles (7-3, 3-2). McDonogh trailed for most of the game before going on a 6-0 run that spanned both halves for an 8-5 lead with 10:44 left in the fourth quarter. Bogue Hahn scored the tying goal for the Eagles with 56 seconds left in regulation. Brendan Milllon had a hat trick for McDonogh.

Crofton 18, North County 3: Zach Gutierrez scored five goals to lead the host Cardinals over the Knights. Other top scorers for Crofton included: Dom Zanolli (3 goals), Tom Gress (3 goals, 2 assists) and Austin Printy (2 goals, 1 assist).

Broadneck 17, Southern 6: Graham Hartman won 20 of 21 faceoffs and the host Bruins beat the Bulldogs. Broadneck was led by Tyler Hicks (3 goals, 1 assist), Liam Komlosy (3 goals), Braden McCassie (2 goals) and Tyler Stewart (2 goals, 1 assist).

Chesapeake-AA 7, Northeast 4: Hunter Cappe made 13 saves and the host Cougars beat the Eagles. Chesapeake was led by Talan Behler (2 goals, 2 assist) and Jake Forman (2 goals).

Calvert Hall 18, John Carroll 9: Sisto Averno and Owen Scott each scored four goals and Owen Scott and Peyton Forte each had three goals to lead the visiting Cardinals (7-4, 4-1 MIAA A Conference) over the Patriots (3-6, 1-3). Scott had two assists.

Westminster 13, Francis Scott Key 1: Jack Hitchco*ck and Chase Zepp each totaled five points in the Owls’ win. Hitchco*ck finished with three goals and two assists, while Zepp had two goals and three assists. Gavin Teitelbaum and Cam Webb each netted two goals. Tyler Warehime had a goal and two assists. In goal, Connor McNamara had seven saves.

Winters Mill 14, South Carroll 7: Camden Deming and Andrew Owens each scored four goals and each handed out two assists to lead the Falcons past the Cavaliers. Reed Postlethwait totaled seven points on three goals and four assists. In goal, Carter Wissel made 10 saves. For South Carroll, Brayden Mazalewski scored twice. Caden Pertrucci and Cannon Hunter each had a goal and an assist.

Girls lacrosse

Towson 15, Sparrows Point 3: The Generals’ 15 goals were spread between nine different players. Gabi Galvez led the team with three goals. Leila Mazhari, Lily Franklin, Allie Kennedy and Charlotte Hemingway all scored two goals. Chloe Gibson had a goal and a team-high three assists.

Reservoir 20, Hammond 0: The Gators (6-3, 3-1 Howard County) earned a dominant win. Bailey Ko had a game-high five goals and two assists, while Nicole Neely had a hat trick. Bella Sarli scored twice.

Howard 19, Atholton 5: The Lions (4-3, 3-1 Howard County) won their fourth game in a row. Fifteen different Howard players scored in the win as Brynn Bartlett had a team-high five points (two goals, three assists). Avery Lockwood had a goal and three assists.

North Harford 20, Havre de Grace 9: Four Hawks netted hat tricks in the win over the Warriors. Olivia Bloom, Arlynn Goodman, Emily Wilson and Emma Konopacki each scored three goals in the win. Caroline Nicholson had two goals and collected nine draw controls. Gabby Stuchinski and Sophie Deibler each had two goals, while Caitlyn Travaligne and Julia Underwood also scored.

Harford Tech 13, Patterson Mill 12: The Cobras prevailed in a nailbiter against the Huskies. For Patterson Mill, Samantha Chittum led with four goals and three assists. Addison Hamel and Rylie Madsen each had three goals. Riley Crain had two goals and an assist, while Ava Lopano handed out two assists. In goal, Gabby Eraso made 11 saves.

Bel Air 12, C. Milton Wright 10: The Bobcats survived a tough test from the Mustangs. Riley Manzo led the win with four goals. Paige Feick finished with five points on two goals and three assists. Also for Bel Air, Delaney Burrows scored three, Kayla Foughty scored two and Sophia Harrison chipped in one goal. Darby Doehring collected seven draw controls. Shelby Sullivan had a game-high seven goals for C. Milton Wright.

South Carroll 18, Winters Mill 11: Leah Miller scored a career-high 12 goals, the most by a Carroll County player in a game this season. She set another career high with 10 draw controls. Addie Fowble had two goals and an assist, while Rowan Miller, Cat Yankle, Olivia Carter and Ava Krantz also scored.

Westminster 20, Francis Scott Key 7: Brinley Tozer scored six goals and Kate McAlonan totaled seven points as the Owls topped the Eagles. McAlonan scored two goals and handed out a team-high five assists. Lauren Appleby scored four goals to go with her seven draw controls. Riley Bunting did a little of everything with two goals, an assist, four draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Liberty 19, Boonsboro 8: The Lions fell behind 6-0 before storming back. Mady Smith had a team-high five goals and assisted on three others. Annika Wray and Kourtney Goff each scored four goals with Wray also handing out three assists. Sophia Carpenetti chipped in two goals and three assists. Kate Darminio led the Lions with four ground balls.

Annapolis 16, Glen Burnie 2: Amelia Skinner had two goals, three assists and tallied her 100th career point to lead the host Panthers over the Gophers. Brooklyn Skinner scored four goals and Anna Coman had three goals for Annapolis.

Crofton 18, North County 8: Caroline McDonough scored four goals and Lauren Alexander had three goals to lead the visiting Cardinals over the Knights. Mikayla Petersen made 10 saves for North County.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes 16, Tome 3: Sarah Fowler had five goals and one assist and Abby Slawinski had three goals and two assists to lead the Falcons (9-4, 5-0 CALL) over the host Titans. FCA led 11-1 in the first half.

Boys tennis

Westminster 4, South Carroll 1: Michael Pohuski’s 6-0, 6-0 sweep at first singles highlighted the Owls’ victory. Zian Stidham backed him with a 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 line. Doubles wins came from the teams of Aidan Cignatta and Brendan Norfolk, and Nishal Patel and Luke Schoberg. Michael Mooney and Kyle Hastings won first doubles for the Cavaliers.

St. James 3, Manchester Valley 2: The Mavericks took the top two doubles matches, but couldn’t come up with a winning point. Austin Zeigenfuse and Nick Phillips won the No. 1 match, 6-4, 6-1, while Noah Markowitz and Gabe Markowitz won 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5).

Girls tennis

South Carroll 4, Westminster 1: Daphnee Whitmore remained unbeaten at first singles, but the Cavaliers remained unbeaten as a team. Audrey Lillycrop and Caroline Aliftiras won first doubles, 6-1, 6-0. Other doubles wins came from Callie Chesney and Brooklyn Weitzel, and Sophie Kebede and Anissa Smith. Sydney Mossman won second singles for the Cavaliers.
