The Ark season 2 is coming to Syfy, and there’s already plenty for viewers to digest ahead of return of the crew of Ark One. Created by Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner, The Ark debuted in 2023 and was an instant hit for the network. The futurism-themed show takes place a century in the future, focusing on the would-be colonists on the Ark One. A Release Date Is Announced

Months after a release window was teased, the latest news confirms the actual release date for The Ark season 2. As promised, the Syfy original series will begin airing its sophom*ore season on July 17, 2024, a little over a year after the conclusion of season 1 (via TV Line). Episodes will air weekly on the Syfy Channel at 10 pm EST, and will only be available to stream on the Syfy Channel app for now.

Though little production news came out during the show's hiatus, it was revealed in February 2024 that the Syfy original is slated for a summer 2024 release. Fans didn't have to wait too long to find out the specific date, and Syfy later announced that The Ark season 2 will premiere on July 17, 2024 at 10 pm EST only on the Syfy Channel. Episodes will be available to stream on the Syfy Channel app starting the day after new episodes air.

What Happens Next?

While specifics are still being kept under wraps, the finale of the first season set up much of what’s to come in The Ark season 2. Season 1 saw Ark One needing the assistance of Ark 15, and their untrustworthy captain Evelyn Maddox — a shocking twist since Ark 15 is arguably to blame for most of the deaths on Ark One (and the fact that Ark 3 no longer exists at all).

The residents of Ark One and Ark 15 may meet face-to-face in The Ark season 2, which will be an interesting development to say the least. Maddox and Garnet are almost opposites when it comes to their personalities, and it’s clear that Maddox is still bitter about needing Garnet’s help preventing an outbreak of disease on Ark 15 earlier in the season. There’s also the fact that Evelyn’s daughter, Kelly (Samantha Glassner) is on board Ark One, and has revealed herself to have several untrustworthy tendencies of her own. It’s clear that, when The Ark season 2 release date arrives on Syfy, it’ll be another rollercoaster.
